December 13-17

This week wasn't too bad! On Tuesday I edited photos for the halloween spread and began the halloween spread. On Wednesday we did a chapter 6 quiz, I have gotten perfect on all of them so far! I got a video assignment: Promote myself for college/university in 30 seconds. We are trying to convince Mr. Wrigley to give us a different topic as this one is slightly boring!
On Thursday I edited a green picture and a couple others. I managed to remove a black eye from someone!

December 6-10

This week was yet another slow one. On Monday, I made a poster for green council. It is almost finished! Mr. Wrigley wants us to do a video assignment, we have to go through the chapters before we get it, though. We have been doing quizes on each chapter throughout the week.
On Tuesday we did a quiz on The Production Process in Digital Overdrive, our first chapter. I also changed my blog's theme. I am almost done green council poster and will post the JPEG image here next week. I was just waiting for Claire to finish the logo, which was finished on Friday! We did another quiz on Thursday, both of which we both received perfect on.
I have also began gathering pictures for the Halloween spread which I will continue working on next week. I will post some of the ones I am hoping to use next week after they are edited and what not.

November 29-December 3

On Monday I finished my Prezi! Here is the link: https://prezi.com/secure/3bd6a9e3e08be38bc43215818c69ee125641f717/

On Tuesday I presented my Prezi and proofed names for the portrait section of the yearbook. Mr. Wrigley wanted me to add more to my Prezi so I began to do that. On Wednesday I finished my Prezi completely! Today Claire and I took some pictures of Kala Studens and Student Street. The snow looked really interesting on the tables!
This week was very uneventful. I really hope that more happens next week because I am getting quite bored! We would like to do a creative assignment that involves making a video and putting it on Youtube, and seeing how many views we are able to get. We have yet to figure out what we would be able to do for it, though. We got this inspiration from the video I showed the class called "I Hope This Gets To You". It DID end up reaching her, by the way. She loved it!

That is all for today, I am hoping I will have much more to write about next week!

November 22-26

This week was pretty easy going. On Monday I worked a lot on Table Of Contents/ Student Life title page spread. On Tuesday, I watched Alyssa do a really great photoshoot! I also worked on my spread but I am finished for now, as the pictures must be spread out throughout the year, not just the first few months. On Wednesday, I did a really artistic photoshoot with Claire. We wrote words on our stomach (mine was Peace, hers was Freedom) and took some really great pictures. They turned out very well! On Thursday I edited photos. Photoshop was being extremely slow and kept freezing! It was ever so aggravating! I also found my memory stick, it has been in my pencil case for months! I transferred all my Com Tech/Yearbook stuff to it as backup, which was a great feeling! Today, which is Friday I began to make a new Prezi presentation that is due next Friday. The theme is careers in Communication Technology, I chose magazine editor. I got a really good start on it today, and will continue working on it throughout next week.

November 15-18

This week was not very eventful. I began the page for Table of Contents and Student Life title page. We also figured out the order each category would go into and which spreads would go under each category. Our main goal for the yearbook this year is for it to be organized because we noticed that a lot of the previous yearbooks were very unorganized (Halloween was at the very back, AFTER Christmas). We took some pictures of the Christmas box and canned food drive and edited a spread that Mr. Wrigley created. Friday was a P.D. day. Other than that, it was quite an uneventful week. Hopefully next week I get a very good start on my newest spread.

November 8-12

On Monday, I had a photoshoot with Alyssa which turned out very well. Tuesday I had to redo my East/West spread after Mr. Wrigley critiqued it. It looks quite a bit better now, I will post the JPEG image here. I also began trying out Prezi, which is very difficult to get the hang of.
On Wednesday I finished re-doing the spread.
I also got my midterm mark which is a 94%! I am very happy with that mark and I hope to raise it to a 96% by finals. Thursday was the most productive day of the week. I got the hang of Prezi (almost) and added a lot to my first Prezi Presentation. I also learned how to cartoonize pictures for title pages, and how to apply filters in Photoshop. I applied 'Poster Edges', the edge thickness was set to 10, the edge intensity at 2 and posterization at 0. On Friday I cartoonized more photos, and worked on my Prezi more. Also, I have exported my random spirit idea into a JPEG and will post it here.

Nov 1-5

This week was so productive! On Monday I began fiddling around with the clone tool in Photoshop, and ended up with a great success! I've always liked this picture I took of Mackie at the Duathalon but I found that the two people in the back really took away from the picture. I had to crop most of the man in the orange shirt out because I could not seem to clone the house right but other than that, it worked spendidly!

On Tuesday I worked on my East West spread and began the body copy. By Wednesday I was almost finished the body copy! I also began working on a cool project.
On Thursday I finished my project and will post it here next week after I export it as a JPEG, it was my first ever time playing around with the feather tool in Adobe InDesgin. I also finished my body copy and had to make a lot of changes to the spread but was almost finished!
On Friday I FINISHED EAST WEST SPREAD!!!! It will be posted here!
We also learned about Prezi, this website where you can make presentations. It looks like it will be very nifty and handy to have while doing seminars!

October 25-29

This week I worked on editing photos and the East/West spread. All that is left to be done is the body copy and tweaking a few things. I also interviewed Karl Zimmerman of Green Council, who was a pleasure to interview. I learned quite a bit about waste reduction and Korah Green Council's plans for this upcoming year.
Also, the title page of the yearbook has been started and the pencil sketch of it is looking amazing! I am so excited to see the final copy of it!
Finally, we have been working on newspaper article questions about 3-D television which we are all almost finished.
This week has been very productive!

October 17-23

On Monday I began East West spread. I was pretty busy for the rest of the week so I didn't get a chance to work on it very much. On Tuesday I created Waste Reduction Week interview questions to interview Karl Zimmerman with next week. On Wednesday I edited photos in Photoshop and just played around with the different tools, I will post one of the pictures on here. On Thursday we had a photoshoot! I will post my favourite picture from it on here. On Friday I mainly edited photos and worked on the spread.

Before Photoshop! After Photoshop!

October 12-15

This week was very productive! I designed a tattoo for my friend in Photoshop, she sent me an image of a heart and asked me to add the words "The heart never lies" so I played around with it in a few different places on the heart.
I also edited all the Do The Du pictures and will post my favourites
On Thursday, I took pictures at the senior girl's basketball team vs. teachers but I haven't been able to edit them yet.
Also, Claire and I have begun our second spread, the East/West page. Next week will also be a long one!

October 4-8

Since Claire and I finished the Spirit page, we have held off on doing the East/West spread. That will begin tomorrow, however! I've been taking tons of pictures and experimenting with some editing. Ive also been making a poster for OSAID's annual Pumpkin Drop! Here are some of the things I've been doing:

Spirit Spread

The first spread of the Yearbook is now finished! Claire and I created the School Spirit page, we spent about a week and a half working on it.

We learned a lot about Adobe Photoshop and how to edit photos so they may look the best they can. We also learned a lot about drop caps, drop shadows, feathering, etc.

The next page we will be working on will be the East/West page, which will be posted on my blog as soon as it is finished.

Cartoon Motion

Cartoon Motion will focus on combining cartoon elements with classic scrapbooking. We think that it would be a good theme because it immediately catches the eye and is very modern.

Yearbook Themes

- Gold Rush

- Travel

- Organized Chaos

- The Writing On The Wall

- Living The Legacy

- Scrapbooking With A Twist (Graffiti) -> Cartoon Motion
